Counseling and Psychotherapy

Dr. Lawrence keeps office hours Monday through Thursday, with appointments available during daytime or evening hours. Counseling sessions are usually scheduled to last one hour, but may be booked for longer in some cases.

Counseling is billed at an hourly rate. You may find out the current rate by contacting Dr. Lawrence at (414) 431-3344. Some or all of the cost of counseling and psychotherapy may be covered by your health insurance. Although Dr. Lawrence does not participate in preferred provider networks, she is reimbursable as an out-of-network provider. Medicaid (Title XIX), BadgerCare, Medicare, and GAMP are not accepted at this time. If you are thinking of using insurance to pay for counseling, it is helpful to call the 800 number on the back of your insurance card to find out what your coverage is for an out-of-network psychologist. If you do choose to use insurance, Heartland Counseling will take care of all billing. Payment is requested at the time of service, and can be made by cash, check, debit card, or credit card. You will only be responsible for paying those costs that your insurance plan is not expected to cover.

Coaching appointments usually last between 30 and 60 minutes. These may take place at Dr. Lawrence’s office, outside the office, or on the phone. Coaching is not reimbursable by health insurance. Coaching is a service provided to help a person with personal growth and development, not to address a serious problem or issue. Payment for coaching is requested prior to services being rendered.

Dr. Lawrence offers workshops within her areas of specialty to small groups. Costs for attending these workshops depend on the total time commitment, the cost of assessment tools incorporated into the workshop, and other expenses. You can learn about upcoming workshops by checking out the Specialties & Workshops page.
